Trainings for Therapists
NeuroNarrative Reprocessing Therapy (NNRT) is more than a technique—it is a structured, relational, and nervous-system–informed trauma modality designed for real clinical practice.

We are proud to announce that our first official NNRT training will be offered in June, date TBD
This initial cohort will be intentionally small and limited to 6 licensed therapists to ensure depth, mentorship, and hands-on skill development.

What Is NNRT?
NeuroNarrative Reprocessing Therapy (NNRT) is a trauma-focused modality developed by Reta Whalen, LCSW, Clinical Director at Ora Counseling. NNRT integrates:

-
Narrative activation in a structured format
-
Nervous system regulation and somatic tracking
-
Bilateral stimulation
-
Relational co-regulation and pacing
-
Clear clinician posture and fidelity markers

NNRT is designed for therapists who want a trauma model that is both structured and flexible—one that protects against overwhelm while still allowing meaningful reprocessing.

Why Train in NNRT?
Many trauma therapists report feeling caught between two extremes:
-
Staying in talk therapy without deeper nervous system change
-
Or activating too much too quickly and risking dysregulation

NNRT teaches clinicians how to:
-
Activate trauma material in a controlled, titrated way
-
Track sympathetic activation, dorsal shutdown, and dissociation in real time
-
Pace sessions sentence by sentence when needed
-
Maintain relational safety throughout processing
-
Protect the client’s window of tolerance
-
Integrate post-processing sessions into real-life change

This training emphasizes clinical judgment, pacing, and regulation tracking as core competencies.

Training Format (June 4-6, 2026)
This 3-day intensive foundational training will include:
-
Theoretical framework of trauma through an NNRT lens
-
Neurobiology of activation and reprocessing
-
Dissociation identification and management
-
Full protocol walkthrough (from preparation through reprocessing)
-
Demonstrations
-
Supervised practice
-
Fidelity markers and common drift patterns
-
Ethical use and scope considerations

Because NNRT is relational and nuanced, this initial cohort will be limited to 6 therapists to allow for meaningful feedback, skill refinement, and personal mentorship.

Who Is Eligible?
This training is open to:
-
Licensed mental health professionals
-
Pre-licensed clinicians under supervision (with supervisor approval)
-
Therapists currently practicing trauma therapy

Participants should have foundational knowledge of trauma and nervous system concepts.

Certification Pathway
The June 2026 training represents the Foundational Level of NNRT Certification.
Additional levels (Advanced and Instructor) will be available in future cohorts and will include expanded supervision, case consultation, and fidelity review.

Investment & Registration
The Foundational NeuroNarrative Reprocessing Therapy (NNRT) Training is offered at an inaugural rate of $1,075.96 (this includes fees and taxes) for the full 3-day intensive (June 4-6, 2026) located at the Riverwoods Conference Center in Logan, Utah. (Discount hotel stays available for the adjoining Marriott)
This first cohort is intentionally limited to 6 therapists to ensure a high level of mentorship, hands-on practice, and individualized feedback.
Space is limited and expected to fill quickly.
22 CEUs are offered

Price includes:
NNRT Clinical Materials Package
Each participant receives an NNRT Clinical Materials Package, designed to support both regulation and reprocessing during sessions.
The package includes:
-
Bilateral stimulation device
-
Temperature-based regulation tool
-
Emotional processing aids
-
Structured NNRT protocol materials

Enrollment will open soon.
Because space is limited to 6 therapists, early inquiry is encouraged.
